PRIVATEER PRESS 2016 - 2017

CID

(Community Integrated Development)

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to get an inside look into how development for games works? Well, hypothetical person, do I have good news for you! You wouldn't be the only one. As a wild proposition to create better PR and to help establish crisp, clean lines of communication with the WARMACHINE and HORDES communities, CID was born.

Now an integral component to the development cycle, CID allows the community to have a more direct line to the developers and gives them the opportunity to provide feedback and help test the games in a way that promotes more dynamic updates. This allows the game to be as balanced and up-to-date as possible.

CID may be Jackson's greatest accomplishment in regards to creating an unique communication initiative. Upon implementation, several other companies in the gaming industry began rolling out similar programs. For Privateer Press, this change, when coupled with a shift to all ancillary products becoming digital, required staff to no longer field questions regarding game balance on all media.

GRYMKIN RELEASE

Released July 2017

I worked on various aspects of Grymkin: The Wicked Harvest such as:

  • Product Copy, with Matt Goetz and Doug Seacat

  • Playtesting because that's important. Only so many hours available.

  • Faction Book, He has book credits for whatever that means

From 2016 to 2017, I wrote:

  • Press Releases

  • Insiders (or Blogs)

  • Sales Copy, Solicitations

  • Social Media and Video dialog. Also oversaw and edited other team member's Social Media and video copy

  • 10+ published book credits before books were discontinued

  • Product copy for all new products. Products included Trenchers, Blighted Ogrun, Man-o-War, Grymkin, and more while supervised by Matt Goetz and Doug Seacat

I also interacted with the community on a regular basis, both on and off the clock. Marketing requires that you never get to "turn off" and are always a face for the company.

All the fun stuff that wasn't just writing.
